A quick guide to the live markers, calculated statistics and map controls.
Each marker is a train being tracked in real-time. The chevron sits on the side of the marker matching its direction of travel.
Use the map control to colour markers either by brand or by delay: green is on time, amber is 1 to 5 minutes late, and red is 5 or more minutes late.
Train positions are updated every 20 seconds. Between updates, markers move from the last reported location to a predicted next position.
Select a train for its route, headcode, operator, reported delay and estimated speed, plus a link to the full service details.
Counts, delay health, operator rankings and delayed services are calculated from trains being tracked live—not whole-day performance.
The operator selector filters the map and relevant insights below it. Delay-band filters narrow the map further, while operator rankings remain network-wide.
Speed uses the straight-line distance between positions. It can be less accurate on curves or indirect sections of track.
Locations refresh approximately every 20 seconds. All positions, predictions and calculated figures should be treated as indicative.
This map is provided for general passenger information only. Do not rely on it for emergencies, personal safety or railway-operational decisions. Only passenger trains are shown. Freight, engineering, empty-stock and other non-passenger movements may not appear.
